Redirecting links with Rust
Yeah, adding an
rto the end of a word does make it go faster. 🦀
Redirecting urls is something I’ve been meaning to do something about for a while. It’s a fairly straightforward thing to do, and I’ve previously been managing this using Cloudflare.
But it’s time I managed this better, and in the name of not letting my brain rot, I’ve built a URL redirection service… in rust.
Redirectr

As of the current release (v0.1.1), Redirectr is a small, lightweight webserver, that will take an incoming shortcode, and redirect you to the corresponding URL. You can test this live - go.bzn.sh will take you to the root of this site.
URLs are stored in a Sqlite database, and can be inserted, updated and deleted via an API call.
Take a look on github or pull down the image from dockerhub andybzn/redirectr:latest to have a go.
